Behind EverGrace Care: A Note From Our Founder
Our foundational mission is to provide the highest standard of community-focused home care with empathy, respect, and professional reliability.
My name is Regina Berko, and I am a hospital Registered Social Worker with a strong background in complex case management, discharge planning, and patient advocacy. Throughout my career, I have been dedicated to supporting individuals and families through some of life’s most vulnerable moments by ensuring compassionate, safe, and seamless transitions from hospital to home. I have experience working with at-risk and vulnerable populations, including individuals facing mental health challenges, addictions, homelessness, dementia, chronic illness, and other complex health conditions, while providing comprehensive psycho-social support rooted in empathy, dignity, and trust. My passion for care extends far
beyond professionalism — it is deeply personal. Through both my personal experiences and career in healthcare, I have witnessed the emotional and physical weight families often carry while caring for loved ones, which inspired me to create EverGrace Care: a service built on compassion, advocacy, and meaningful support so individuals and families never have to navigate life’s transitions alone.
In 2021, our family received the heartbreaking news that my father had been diagnosed with end-stage liver cancer. During one of the most difficult seasons of our lives, I watched my mother carry the overwhelming responsibility of being his primary caregiver, often sacrificing her own well-being while facing immense physical and emotional burnout. As the only daughter, I became the main point of communication between doctors and our family, attending appointments, managing information, and trying to hold everything together — all while being a full-time worker, a student, and a mother of four. To say it was hard would be an understatement. In those moments, we deeply understood how heavy caregiving can become, and how life-changing it would have been to have compassionate support beside us. EverGrace Care was born from that experience — from the love we had for my father, the strength we saw in my mother, and the wish that no family should have to carry that weight alone.
That experience became the foundation of my passion for compassionate and dignified care. Creating EverGrace Care is more than starting a business — it is about becoming the support, guidance, and helping hand that my mother and I once wished we had during one of the most overwhelming times in our lives. Through my work as a hospital social worker participating in discharge planning, I continue to witness the growing need for dependable, compassionate home support for individuals and families navigating complex health challenges, major life transitions, chronic illness, dementia, Alzheimer’s, and changing levels of care. At EverGrace Care, our mission is to provide thoughtful, person-centered support that preserves dignity, honours individuality, and respects each person’s unique needs and wishes.

Because of my family's journey, I didn't just want to provide care myself—I set out to build a full-support agency. Today, I personally vet, train, and oversee our team of experienced Personal Support Workers (PSWs) to combine clinical case-management oversight with reliable, hands-on home care.
